Paru Paru y Colibri Volume One
Over 50 jail beds will be dropped in various locations on Christmas Eve as part of a coordinated campaign by JusticeLA and L.A. area artists. The beds are meant to remind Angelinos that on Christmas Eve, millions of people in America and thousands in L.A. County, will be spending Christmas in a jail cell unable to celebrate the holiday season with their families and loved ones simply because they are poor and cannot afford the high cost of bail.
Check back on Christmas Eve for exact locations. Follow @JusticeLANow and #JailBedDrop on social media for the latest. This Zine Library and taking a knee cut out where made from a jail bed, in order to bring more visibility to the millions of people in America that are in a jail cell and the ever growing giant of the prison industrial complex. Let's share resources, we can live in a world without police and prisons.
What would that look like? How would you feel? Let's plant those seeds and help them grow! Pedal Pulse Pride Flag MemorialIn collaboration with People for Mobility Justice for the second Pedal.Pulse.Pride Ride. This is a commemorative unity ride that will kick off Pride Month and celebrate those we lost at Pulse Orlando on June 12, 2016 and our local loved ones. Flags where made in collaboration with Imelda Romero and Chynna Monforte to uplift the lives of those lost in the Orlando shooting. |

We come from a wide spectrum of experiences marked by race, gender, sexuality, class, citizenship, language, and education, but what we have in common is a shared ethic to interrogate our privileges alongside our marginalization, to understand our conditions, and to learn from and contribute to grassroots struggles. We are artists, teachers, writers, organizers, students, self-learners, translators, workers, parents, caretakers, inventors, visionaries, dreamers, gardeners, chefs, lovers, warriors, revolutionaries… |
